MassHousing in 2023 Awarded $679,837 for Affordable Sober Housing in Massachusetts

Evidence that residents increase recovery capital through such things as recovery support and community service, work/employment, etc. Steppingstone, Inc., Fall River, $23,845 MassHousing grant funds will help upgrade a heating system and facilitate other renovations to preserve sober housing for 23 men in Fall River. Sober houses offer an important service to individuals in early recovery. When leaving treatment, many men and women have limited options. Independent living is difficult, and sober housing offers an attractive alternative to many options available to men and women in early recovery. Main components of Project NORTH include voluntary court-based Recovery Support Navigation, short-term transportation assistance to relevant services, and short-term assistance with rent in a certified and participating sober house. Gandara Center, Springfield, $14,000Grant funds will help renovate eight units of affordable sober housing for men at Miracle House in Springfield. The Healey-Driscoll Administration remains committed to lowering housing costs and increasing the availability of housing across the state.

G. Core Principle: Facilitate Active Recovery and Recovery Community Engagement

Hotels and motels will be closed in a phased approach based on discussions with providers. Families and local community will be notified in advance of planned closures. Recovery Resources for Massachusetts Sober House Residents

VSL works alongside MASH to support and equip Chartered Operators to strengthen their local communities through effective sober housing.
